“We’ve just come off an amazing run straight through the desert and into the heartland,” said Kyle Gass of TRAINWRECK. “We’ve covered a lot of ground, and left a lot of musical damage in our wake. To remedy this, I have taken a great deal of my own personal fortune and built a number of TRAINWRECK outpatient facial reconstructive surgery centers to begin rebuilding all the melted faces. The Wreckoning is out there, people are buying it, and people are living it. We’ve created a rare gem that the world, upon witnessing, has said unanimously, ‘YES!, that is indeed what I want, please bring me more.’ And we’ve heard this plea, and are booking even more shows to try to satisfy the insatiable appetite of the masses.”

Equal parts rock band and comedic acting troupe, TRAINWRECK’s absurdist stage banter and lyrics are derived from characters they’ve developed within the band; essentially living caricatures of themselves. Never ones to shy away from big guitars (or occasional flute fugues and fantasy), TRAINWRECK have earned the respect of music fans all over the globe, affording them headlining slots at venues in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. They have supported bands such as Reverend Horton Heat, Vida Blue (Page from Phish), Blues Traveler and have performed on The Jimmy Kimmel Show and Current TV. Recently the band appeared on the popular nationally syndicated late night radio show Loveline w/ Dr. Drew Pinsky.

TRAINWRECK has been described by Gass as a “cornucopia of rock and a 5-headed hydra of pleasure” who not only provide humor but some prolific musicianship as well. Guitarist John Konesky (aka John Bartholomew Shredman) was recently tapped to teach Kristen Stewart to play guitar like Joan Jett in the film The Runaways, and had a cameo in the film.  John “JR” Reed (aka Darryl Lee Donald) has appeared in TV (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), film (the voice of the pig in Kung Fu Panda) and endless commercials. Bassist John Spiker (Boy Johnny) not only produced The Wreckoning but also is an in-demand session bassist with credits as diverse as The Jonas Brothers, Herb Alpert and Beck.

All tracks on The Wreckoning highlight the bands par-tay credo. Case in point, the video for “Brodeo,” a tale of man-on-man ‘bonding’ could very well be the band’s manthem, with lyrics touching on the finer points of beer pong, chips and dip and lots of energetic men taking their shirts off at a pool party sans chicks. It’s a visual Broverload to be sure.
