World Renowned French Guitarist PIERRE BENSUSAN Gains Acclaim For His U.S. Tour

The ‘Mozart Of Guitar’ Will Be Giving A VIP Lesson On March 5 At Fondren Guitars

Favored Nation’s French-Algerian guitarist and vocalist Pierre Bensusan has received a host of positive reviews and national attention for his 2011 U.S. winter tour, which has uniquely combined a series of concert dates, guitar workshops and speaking engagements. On March 5, Pierre will give a special VIP guitar lesson from 10 a.m. to noon at Fondren Guitars, located on 607 Fondren Place in Jackson, Miss. The $300 deal price to learn from the master himself also includes a concert ticket to his show the night before, March 4 at the St. James Church also in Jackson, Miss.

Bensusan and his latest album Vividly, has been profiled in Guitar Player magazine, which referred his music as, “a unique hybrid listening experience that spans folk, Celtic, jazz, Brazilian and Middle Eastern influences.”  Dr. Matt Warnock of Guitar International wrote, “… it’s no surprise that [Bensusan’s] latest album Vividly is of the highest caliber.” In addition, Phil Catalfo of Acoustic Guitar said, “Any new release by Pierre Bensusan is a guitar-universe event and Vividly is no exception.” Fans and newcomers can experience the virtuoso’s talent when his performance and interview on NPR Weekend News with Scott Simon airs Saturday, February 19 at 9:30 a.m. ET. Bensusan’s winter tour has recently made strides in such major metropolitan areas as New York City, Philadelphia, Pa., and Los Angeles, Calif.  The talented guitarist’s tour will continue to hit the West Coast at Siskiyou Institute at Paschal Winery in Ashland, Ore. on February 18, Walters Cultural Center in Hillsboro, Ore. on February 19 and for two dates in Seattle, Wash. at Dusty Strings Music Workshop. On February 20 and the Jazz Alley on February 21. The tour will continue on to Bellingham, Wash. at Western Washington University’s PAC Concert Hall on February 23 and at Eastern Washington University’s EWU Music Recital Hallin Cheney, Wash. on February 25 and will travel to Denver, at Swallow Hill Music, consisting of a concert on February 26 and a guitar workshop on February 27. In March, Bensusan will perform at Poor David’s in Dallas, Texas (March 2), Dosey Doe in The Woodlands, Texas (March 3), then of course St. James Episcopal Church (March 4) and at Fondren Guitars for a VIP Lesson (March 5), both in Jackson, Miss. His remaining itinerary includes Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, Ga. (March 6), Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis, Minn. (March 9), Michigan Guitar Society for a concert and workshop in Auburn Hills, Mich. (March 13), The Bluestone in Columbus, Oh. (March 14), Burchfield Penney Arts Center in Buffalo, NY (March 15), Institute of Musical Traditions in Takoma Park, Md. (March 16) and finally, a concert at Sedona Performers Guild in Sedona, Ariz. (March 19) and a workshop at the same venue on March 20.
