The 3rd annual Urban X Awards recently took place at the 740 Club in Downtown Los Angeles. The adult community came to celebrate the achievements of ethnic performers, agents, directors, producers and companies, as voted on by the fans. But no one had any idea that esteemed director Alexander DeVoe and his production company, Alexander DeVoe Productions, would take home a total of seven awards. DeVoe collected the 2010 glass “X” award for being inducted into the Hall of Fame, along with Director of the Year, Best Anal Series for Black Ass Addiction, Best Latin Series for Deep in Latin Cheeks, Best Oral Series for Throat Injection, Best Interracial Series for Rico the Destroyer, and Best Group Sex Scene for Dynamic Booty 4. This brings his total of Urban X wins to 21.

“The fans have definitely spoken,” says Director Alexander DeVoe. “I’m still in shock, but the aftermath is that I walked away with seven awards. Each year, I am still amazed that the fans say thank you and give me the recognition they do with each vote — it is definitely an honor that I’m very appreciative for. It’s great to be recognized for standing out from the pack and having superior production standards.”

Alexander DeVoe entered the adult arena in 1999. He performed and directed for a variety of companies, including working as a contract director for West Coast Productions. In 2002, he branched out on his own to start Alexander DeVoe Productions and Black Angel Entertainment. Known for his unique shooting style he refers to as “DeVoism,” DeVoe is an award-winning director with many Urban X awards and AVNs under his proverbial belt. The movies that he’s created continue to be some of the best-selling and most popular titles available in the adult marketplace. DeVoe has been able to attain this by reinventing Black video by making superior products, setting high standards and blazing a trail for current and future filmmakers to follow. And if that weren’t enough, he is branching into mainstream films and TV. DeVoe and his wife Sharee “Stilts” English have begun production on a reality show and are developing projects for TV and film. DeVoe and Stilts also do a weekly radio show on LA Talk Radio called The Stilts & DeVoe Show featuring mainstream and adult personalities.
