Acclaimed sexual wellness authority and Wicked Pictures contract star jessica drake’s photo essay on CNN.com was declared “most popular photo blog of 2013” by the prominent news outlet. The profile, created by photographer Chris McPherson and journalist Abbey Goodman, follows the adult performer, filmmaker, and modern sex educator over three days in Los Angeles.

In the photo blog, drake discusses LA County’s controversial Measure B (also known as the County of Los Angeles Safer Sex In the Adult Film Industry Act), the adult industry, and her performance, educational, and volunteer work; the feature also takes a peek into her private life.

“I was so surprised and excited to learn my CNN photo blog ranked number one for 2013,” says drake. “Topping a list that includes many important societal concerns and well known celebrities further proves just how interested the general public is in sexuality and the adult film industry. Many people harbor preconceived ideas about what being an adult performer means, and that is exactly why it was important for me to do this project. drake makes a point of stressing condoms are not foolproof, and strongly disagrees with the Measure B legislation. “As a woman, I don’t like someone telling me what to do with my body, and as a performer, I feel very much the same way,” drake says in the interview.

Since 2004, drake has been a contract performer for Wicked Pictures, the only major adult entertainment studio to produce condoms-only content since 1999. Yet while Wicked Pictures’ in-house policy requires condom use, the company joined most of the adult industry in opposing Measure B.

The legendary star, widely regarded as the most successful and well-known adult film figure of all time, became a household name during her remarkable career as an actress, producer, director and company owner. Not only did Jameson achieve a level of fame that no one who came before her rivaled, she also is credited with pioneering adult entertainment’s crossover to mainstream pop culture.

Jameson stepped away from the industry in 2008, but in recent years she has begun making select public appearances. When she takes the stage at the XBIZ Awards in January 2014, it will mark her first appearance at an industry event in nearly six years.

In just six years as a studio executive, Jameson turned her Club Jenna brand into a multimedia empire that she ultimately sold to Playboy in 2006 in a groundbreaking, eight-figure deal that remains one of the largest acquisitions in adult entertainment history.

That transaction marked one of several milestones for the petite blonde from Las Vegas who has authored a career filled with them.

One of Jameson’s most notable achievements was becoming a New York Times bestselling author for her autobiography How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale. The book, which later was translated into German and Spanish, spent six weeks on The New York Times Best Sellers list after its release in August 2004.

Her notoriety led to more than 30 guest appearances on the Howard Stern Show as well as landed her in the shock jock’s semi-autobiographical movie Private Parts in 1997. She also hosted several episodes of the E! channel’s travelogue Wild On! in the late ’90s.

The power of Jenna’s brand penetrated all forms of media and entertainment. Jameson added to her mainstream credits in 2001, when she appeared in the “Without Me” music video for Eminem. That same year she voiced an animated version of herself in an episode of Family Guy.

Her high profile even led to cameos on primetime network TV in 2003, when she appeared on two episodes of Mister Sterling on NBC. She hit primetime again in 2007 when she was on Paris Hilton’s reality TV show The Simple Life.

Among her other accomplishments, Jameson became the first adult film star featured on a billboard in Times Square in New York, where her image graced a 48-foot sign that promoted her website and movies in 2003. She also was the first adult star to be immortalized in wax in 2006 at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas.

Lisa Ann is back in the USA and set for another big week that spans the entirety of the lower 48.

Lisa kicked things off on Monday, February 7^th by shooting for Hustler’s This Ain’t Ghostbusters XXX. Tuesday night, February 8^th was another big night on Stripper Town, her Sirius XM show that is getting bigger by the week. During last week’s show she featured her first-ever guest, Jenna Haze, a little treat she’d like to repeat in the future.

“I want to keep the show fresh for people,” Lisa said. “It was great to get Jenna in there and mix it up and get some of her great stories out there to the listeners. I have more surprises coming up for the show that I know will make the audience absolutely crazy.”

It’s a night of great anticipation for many in the industry, with the final countdown to tonight’s XBIZ Awards officially underway. Many stars, directors and production companies will be keeping their fingers crossed as they shake hands and mingle with the industry crowd.
