There were two awards shows recently, Europe’s Galaxy Awards and The Sex Awards in Hollywood, CA.

In the Galaxy Awards, Remy LaCroix took the Best New Female Performer America trophy, and at the Sex Awards she went home with Porn’s Perfect Screen Couple (Girl/Girl), sharing the award with Riley Reid.

On October 9, the top stars in adult entertainment gathered at Avalon in Hollywood for The Sex Awards, hosted by jessica drake, presented by HotMovies.com, and produced by X3Sixty Network and AVN Media Network. Fan-selection winners in 17 award categories were announced before an industry-only crowd of hundreds of performers, directors, producers, and media.

Fans will have their opportunity to watch The Sex Awards in January 2014 when the inaugural event is broadcast on national television. It will be the first fan-choice award show for the adult industry to air and will include sexy, behind-the-scenes footage of the nominees, as well as an exciting reality show component.

The results included popular adult starlets Asa Akira and Riley Steele combining for five awards — Akira was voted Porn Star of the Year and half of Porn’s Perfect Girl/Girl Screen Couple (with Wicked Pictures’ jessica drake). The Asa Akira showcase, Asa Akira Is Insatiable 3 from Elegant Angel, received the Adult Movie of the Year award. Meanwhile, Steele earned Porn’s Best Body and Porn’s Perfect Boy/Girl Screen Couple (with Erik Everhard).

In addition to receiving her trophy for Porn Star of the Year, Akira was presented with an exquisite diamond bracelet from award sponsor Vivid Cabaret.

The glamorous evening also included a tribute to the legendary Ron Jeremy, who received the show’s first Lifetime Achievement award. Comedian Sam Tripoli, with the help of tourists and street performers on Hollywood Blvd., provided a mini-roast of Jeremy before the star came on stage to accept his award. Jeremy thanked the industry and his parents for instilling a hard work ethic in him regardless of what he chose to do in life.

Psychological porn thriller Sanatorium took eroticism to a new level when it was released in September and the adult industry took notice as well, nominating the mesmerizing film, it’s writer/director/producer Gary Orona and star Tabitha Stevens with 10 AVN nominations.  The company also received seven award nominations for its Vampire Sex Diaries film. The award show will be held January 8th 2011 at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Male adult star Tommy Gunn has had a very good year, and recently Gunn has received five nominations to prove that point, they include: Best Actor, Male Performer Of The Year, Cross Over Star Of The Year, Best Couple Sex Scene, and Best Group Sex Scene.

“I’m very grateful to AVN and all of those voting, for my nominations,” stated Gunn.

Recently he has proved that he can do more than just “perform on camera,” and has made the transition from adult film star to mainstream actor with a role in the hit HBO series Entourage, playing the on-screen ex boyfriend of Sasha Grey.

“This was a real blast to do, and I’m planning on doing a lot more work in mainstream in the coming years” said Gunn.

Gunn has been turning heads in the adult and mainstream industry, not only for his rugged good looks, but his acting abilities as well.

Some of Gunn’s more memorable recent performances include Digital Playground’s Pirates and Pirates 2: Stagnetti’s Revenge, and Adam & Eve’s Rawhide 2, which Gunn considers one of his brightest acting moments, and a role that Gunn said was very demanding on him physically as well. Gunn can also be seen costarring in the upcoming movie Saw, A Hardcore Parody for Blue Circus.

“I take my work very seriously, and any projects that I do, I put 100% into it,” added Gunn.

The New Jersey native recently filmed several scenes with the infamous beauty Amy Fisher, earlier this Fall. Fisher especially wanted to work with the dynamic Gunn, and was one of the first actors she booked for her scenes.

Gunn has also worked as a producer and director, and was one of the first to pioneer the 3D interactive release. His first project was titled Cummin’ at You in 3D and is planning on directing a follow up 3D interactive title.
