ASA AKIRA announces she is the newest Wicked Girl at the 2013 Sex Awards

Wicked Pictures and its acclaimed creative team were rarely out of the spotlight last week. From Hollywood to Florida’s Gold Coast, the production powerhouse earned major accolades while welcoming Asa Akira to its family of exclusive contract stars.

With three-time AVN Best Actress and emerging sexual wellness authority jessica drake taking center stage as host, the X3Sixty Network, InsideAdult.com and AVN presented The Sex Awards October 9th. Described as “the first fan-based awards show to be broadcast on national TV,” the gala event took place at the Avalon in Hollywood.

Asa Akira dominated the evening by winning three major awards. She and jessica drake won Porn’s Perfect Girl/Girl Screen Couple, and she went on to snare both Adult Movie of the Year and Porn Star of the Year.

She capped off her three-peat by announcing that she had signed an exclusive performing contract with Wicked Pictures. Reflecting on it all, Akira observes, “Out of all the awards I’ve been lucky enough to win, the Sex Awards are particularly special to me. First, because they were voted on by the fans. Secondly, I was given the green light to announce my Wicked contract on stage if I won Porn Star of the Year – which I did! And third, jessica drake and I won Porn’s Perfect Girl/Girl Screen Couple. We’ve done two scenes together so far, and the chemistry between us is crazy. I’m glad the fans agree!”

The evening was just as impactful for Ms. drake. “I knew it would be an amazing show! I really enjoyed hosting the night and it only got better when I won Porn’s Perfect Girl/Girl Couple with our new Wicked Girl! I was impressed by the professionalism of everyone involved and I can’t wait to see the show on national TV. I’m grateful to Paul Fishbein and Wicked Pictures for this great opportunity!”

The acclaim continued Sunday night, October 13th as Wicked received several trophies at the 21st Annual NightMoves Awards in Tampa, Florida. Celebrated in style at the Tampa Gold Club and hosted by industry luminaries Ron Jeremy and Misty Stone, the star-studded soiree saw the company and its talented collaborators receiving some of the evening’s top honors, including the coveted NightMoves First Choice Award, which recognized the overall quality and excellence of Stormy Daniels’ compelling adult drama Wanderlust.

Kudos continued to come Wicked’s way throughout the evening, with Brad Armstrong, creator of such 2013 epics as Underworld, receiving the Fan Choice Award for Best Director – Non Parody. Edwin Lee, the gifted gonzo director whose Wicked releases have been earning both brisk sales and critical raves, deservedly earned Best Cougar/MILF Release (Editor’s Choice) for Cougars vs. Kittens. Turning to other categories, longtime industry publicist Daniel Metcalf received the Adella Award for “work behind the scenes” and Wicked Pictures was honored with the Fan Choice Award for Best Production Company.
